What is ADHD?
Put simply, ADHD is a condition that impacts executive function, emotional regulation, focus, memory, and causes low levels of dopamine/norepinephrine.
Not to mention that ADHDers have a different gut microbiome than others. Meaning that the gut bacteria they have is often less diverse, causing issues in serotonin production and overall gut issues. And with gut issues often comes dysregulation in the gut-brain connection as a whole. We work on these components within my coaching!
Not all wellness routines and goals are created equal, and there is no ideal wellness or lifestyle. You need goals and a routine that actually works with you and your life. One that is flexible, working with your energy levels, nourishing your body, and creating the wellness YOU want in your life! The gut-brain connection is a two-way communication between our brain and gut, through our nervous system. It is significantly important in overall wellness, from gut health, stress regulation, getting quality sleep, and so much more. The idea is to keep a healthy communication within this connection!
Because of this connection, our gut and stress/emotions are very closely impacted by one another. Have you ever felt “butterflies” in your stomach when you were anxious or anticipating something? That’s one common way we can see our emotions and stress giving us a physical reaction in our gut. And oftentimes, we don’t even realize they impact each other. Along with gut health and emotions/stress, another big part of this connection is sleep and movement, as they are both so important to maintain a healthy connection between the gut and brain!
Within my coaching programs, we dive into rebalancing the gut, implementing sustainable nutrition, and regulating stress, emotions, and energy levels. We also dive into developing good quality sleep and incorporating movement that is enjoyable and sustainable! We work together to build a lifestyle for wellness by adding things to your life that fit and you can do long-term.
